I have been planning on buying a film scanner, and was planning on an epson. But this weekend I was cleaning out a closet and found my old scanner (at least 10 years old). I hooked it up, downloaded a driver, and it still works. If anyone knows anything about this model, I would appreciate some advice. I know how to adjust resolution, etc., but when I scan a slide, I get the scan lines, which do not go away in PP. It still may be that I need a new scanner, but with my heritage, I will beat the dead horse until it gets up. Anyone know anything? Here is a sample that I did not finish the PP, but it will let you see what I am talking about.

I have this scanner and used it exclusively until I got the Nikon 9000. You simply have to crop out these lines around the edge. The scanner "sees" the edges of the slide, and the Prime doesn't have a crop tool like the Nikon does.

Thanks for the information, I was amazed that it worked at all, but the lines I'm referring to are within the photo. Enlarged, they are quite obvious. I'll probably have to get a new scanner, anyway.

In the scanning program, try increasing the resolution. The problem with this scanner is that it cannot give you large scans for large prints. But it works pretty well for web presentation. I guess my eyes aren't that good. I don't see the lines you refer to.

Thanks again. I'm expecting too much from it. I am wanting to enlarge my slides and negatives for prints. back to the budget.
