They look like black-bellied whistling ducks - but for bird ID one thing that helps is to say WHERE they were photographed. Australia? India? TheUK? Florida? The correct answer would vary. Here is one fairly close up:

Definitely Black-bellied Whistling ducks. This is a duck that is actually not uncommon to find in trees.

Pretty hard to tell in silhouette. Open up the exposure a little more on a backlit subject like that so the colors and details aren't lost in the shadows. some of that may be recoverable in PP.

I used to play golf at Riveridge in Eugene, OR, which was host to gaggles of geese, Canada Geese. These magnificent creatures owned the place and left their enormous turds every where as stakes to that claim. One morning we were astonished to find about a dozen of them in a large tree. They seemed quite at home, moving from branch to branch and to the ground and back into the tree. I witnessed this just once and until now, wondered if I was, or the geese were confused.
I can't help you identify the waterfowl in your post, but am very grateful to you for reassuring me as to my sanity in remembering this long ago incident.

Funny. I've seen that a couple of time. What's also funny is seeing a flock of turkeys in a tree.

I live in Venice, FL too. The Black-bellied Whistling Ducks like to sit on the telephone wires behind my house.
