Tried Auto ISO yesterday, never again.

Thanks, already worked it out, you are so wise.
You're welcome. Someday you could be too if you don't keep blaming innocent cameras for your lack of knowledge.

Please Burk, Pole or better said, Polish Jokes went out of style long ago... just after Little Brother Jokes... cruel and disgusting.... I have two scars on my feet a result of one of those.... and it is a joke that this thread went on for 8 pages.....

Huh? My post had nothing to do with jokes, or Polish people.
Most UHH posts DO go on far longer than necessary.
Your file info on the bad exposures should tell you what went wrong.

Set my D7200 on Auto ISO 100 to 24600 Manuel Mode, went outside yesterday to try it.
Sun was out, set on f8, shutter on 250, took a few of the car first two came out great.
Then all of a sudden the next few were completely washed out. Turned The Auto ISO off
and set ISO on200 and every things fine. WTH!!!!!

Burk, No, your post had nothing to do with a Polish Joke.... Humor is the unexpected... often a fun play on words. I picked up on the phrase " opposite poles of the same continuum".
You are a very serious UHH person that I
technically respect, but I am not above tickling the serious person. For me, my creative science background to say "technically respect" is a great compliment. This whole thread went on and on and few if any bothered with my using ExIF and then transferring to MS-word then copy again with Ashampoo Snap and saving as a JPEG.... In fact one said the two photos could have been of different days when the time clock was right there... totally ignored. Unfortunately, too often an alternate reality exist in UHH ! People love to opine and not look at the facts and technical interpretation. As you and I know Photography is a very technical discipline as well as an art form.
In this tread I was accused of being vulgar... cursing... using the word "hell". The thread originator corrected me saying it was Heck... I informed them that heck was really a very bad word! The originator never bothered to look at their own information.... perhaps on the first page it would have been best to inform how to find the ExIF info.
I extend my hand to you with a smile please shake it.
Send all those puppies here. Dogs (and some cats(!) rule). Gentle creations of God and a friend to all mankind. I'm not that religious, but bless you!!!!! Pic of our latest attached!!! Maggie! A treasure.

Isn't it great that we are out of the film days. We can view the photos we just took and make the corrections on the spot. Always check the screen on the back of your camera before you leave the location. You just might not have captured what you thought you did. We can always make some corrections on the computer, like darken or lighten and crop, and even straighten. And some other things. But its always better to get it right in the camera.
What has this pic/comment have to do with using auto ISO. Just asking.

Shaken!
Yeah, there are some "interesting" types here. Lots of "Ready... Fire!!! Aim? What's aim?"
To the prudes in the shadows, if the word 'hell' offends you, you need serious psychological help.
My guess is you are using "spot" metering and you are metering on light areas and metering on dark areas in other pics.

Mike, do you really think that it has not been figured out by page 10?
Oh and btw, your guess is as wrong as "wrong"
I "unwatched" this thread a page or two after the problem was solved (page 2?), but then couldn't resist checking in to see the stabs in the dark taken without reading through. What's the over/under for the page number for the last blind "answer"?

I might just be lasy, but I have used auto iso for years. Probably 100K images. If the image is blown it's usually something else, some mistake I made.
I would definately not give up on the Auto setting.

Great info, but do you have any clue what happened to the OP's camera?
