Before and After

Karenn Loc: Sydney Australia.

The Lachlan River before and after shots in near the same spot on different years. The ones with water taken November 2016 and the later only taken in 2015. What a difference a year makes in Australia. These views over the Lachlan are taken from our farm/rural lifestyle property from the ridge line on our property. The Lachlan River feeds Wyangala Dam which is sored and released for farmers crops down stream. We visit our property every few weekend for 4 day breaks when work allows.

Reservoir looks really shallow. Appears large when full, but doesn't hold much water. Our California reservoirs were going through that for years, but now there is too much water to hold, and the dams are literally bursting.

This is only the back waters and they are full to the max at the moment. The reservoir is Wyangala Dam and it hold 4 x that of Sydney Harbour. This dam is used only for the township and irrigation, down stream. It is also a great recreation area for water skiing/swimming etc. It was closed through the drought with the dam being at 4%.

Nice shots, Karenn. I've been fishing in Wyangala a few times. Earl.

Nice images, enjoyed the narrative and looks like a great place to call home!

Wonderful shots Karenn, really shows the diverse character of the Australian bush in drought and good times. Where is your property located? you have magic scenery.

Near Wyangala Dam a place called Reid's Flat. Biggest town near by is Cowra but it is a hours drive from us. It is a 3 and half hours drive for us from home but with all the travelling we do seems like 2 hours. We use it for 4 x 4 driving, bikes, quads, camp fires, relaxing, shooting and of course photos for me. I have planted numerous natives over the years to attract birds so I have a lot of native flower shots. Check out some of my old post relating to the farm for more shots with a view.

Near Wyangala Dam a place called Reid's Flat. Big... (show quote)

Thank you for that. I am very familiar with Cowra but didn't recognise the other place names. It is a very nice part of NSW.
