Here are three photographs taken of the windmill in Lytham St Annes in the UK.
They were taken in cloudy but bright conditions with three different cameras:

1: Olympus EM10 M43 camera
2: Panasonic TZ10 P&S camera
3: LG G3 Smartphone camera

Can you work out what camera took each photograph and which image do you consider to be the best (or the least worst)

3: Lytham Windmill
3: Lytham Windmill...

Good comparison, and with a little processing, all three could look just about the same.

I think its the order you placed the cameras in John.

I agree. And to my eyes, #1 is far away of 2 & 3. Colors seem more real to my tastes. Close call for the other two.

I find the first the most satisfactory. It seems balanced regarding highlights and shadows and the color is more prominent, but it also appears that the first had full sun, while the second must have had the sun partially obscured by a cloud.

Sorry Doddy, that's not correct. The tricky part for me was to match the angle of view of the two cameras to the phone in the freezing cold.

I like the center picture for overall quality. Then the top and finally the bottom shot.

Thanks for looking, so you consider no1, the best that's interesting to know.

You're right the clouds kept obscuring the sun, taking the cameras off and on the tripod took a few minutes each time so the lighting kept changing.
It was a tricky shot to take with the bright white of the windmill compared with the shadowy lifeboat house.

#1 gets my vote for the best, but I have no clue as to which camera shot which picture.

Number 1 is the best but I don't like the pinkish tint in the sky.

In this size image they look about the same- little different color tint. It would be more meaningful to enlarge them and then compare.
