I use this lens regularly, its great and produces fantastic shots. However, depending how far you are from the action it may not have enough reach.

Please check the facts before spreading this bull crap. Nikon glass is made by Hikari Glass, a WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY OF NIKON, where they do everything from sorting and mixing the silica sand to final polishing. Your comment that your car is not all American because the parts are made in various countries is similarly misguided and is akin to saying General Motors does not build Chevrolet cars because they are assembled by the wholly owned subsidiary Chevrolet Motor Division, which can shut down the whole operation at their whim. Whatever happened to Pontiac Motor Division? I remember now. It was closed by General Motors because GM owned it!
Please check the facts before spreading this bull ... (show quote)

I did research and you are wrong.

i have a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II lens that I have had for 18 months and want to purchase the E version.

I would sell the G version to you with the original box and all the accessories that came with the lens for $1,700.00

if interested let me know.

The D500 is a Dx format camera, so please look at the Sigma 18-300.
I am very leery of super-zoom lenses like that. Designers always seem to have to make extra compromises to cover so much zoom.
