I also tried google with no success. I even googled georgia straight and got many answers but none of which were of the insect variety. Is it possible the name georgia straight is a local alias? Any one else have words of wisdom on this one?
Try looking up the nymph form of the Assassin Bug (Zelus luridus). I am just barely a novice at defining insect species, so let this be your starting point and go from there!
I found the bug by cheating. I went on Google images and entered 'long thin green six legged insect' and a very similar picture that the op has was on the first page. I clicked on it and it said, 'Georgia Staight'

Nice try but I don't think this is the same bug. The one I found looks more like a grasshopper. If this isn't the same pic you found can you post the link to the one you found? Posting the link is so much easier than explaining what people should google for. http://www.straight.com/blogra/695821/homeless-vancouver-bugs-me-i-dont-know-what
