Thanks for your service, Sir.......RR USN 1955 - 1963
You're very welcome. And right back at you.
I'm the ma'am on the left...I served in the Army Reserve 1988-1996, as I wasn't up for life as a dual military family. The baby next to me retired from the Army in 2010....after lots of support from me and our two daughters.
The soldier signs up for it.....the spouse does, too. The real heroes are the kids who courageously give up their parents for a cause they don't yet understand. To me, nothing is more inspirational...and heartbreaking at the same time...to see a child stay strong when they're missing their daddy who is deployed. To look into your child's watery eyes when they tell you how much they miss daddy....and to see the burden visibly lifted when they're reunited....words just can't describe it.
Anyway.....I'm proud to have served. I'm more proud to have supported my husband....and nothing touches the pride I have for my children for the sacrifices they have made.
