During one of trips to Manhattan we took the LIRR in and then had to take the subway to our destination... for some reason it was clean and empty!!

Looks like the opposite of that "day for night" technique they use for movies, "night for day" in this case.

Nice shots! I like the grunge--looks like it's been abandoned for the last 20 years. It's also hard to believe it was so empty down there.

Wow! I have never seen a subway that empty (not that I have been on that many, mind you, but there have been a few)

LOL... I was shocked myself and since I'm uncomfortable taking pictures of strangers, I was happy to shoot in the subway at a rare time, when it was empty and clean!!!
