I've been taking pictures all my life, but just got really interested in going to the next level with cameras and photography. The pictures here are from my Cannon D10 but I just got a Cannon Rebel T3i and have no idea what to do with it. :p I'm learning though. I've been traveling a lot and next week I'm going to Vancouver/Victoria and Canadian Rockies and can't wait to use this new camera. I'm taking my D10 in case I got overwhelmed Just as an introduction I'm putting in these photos from my D10 and see what you think. I'm excited to find this site.

Thanks. I love that shot also. I'm very into snorkeling. The big lady is funny because a popular artist in Curacao paints each doll and has a turtle or fish or iguana, etc. on the dresses and the doll itself is always the same except in size. The third shot I'm really wanting the bird in flight to show up better, but I'm not having much luck unless I crop it and then not a whole lot. Thanks for the welcome.

Well, I didn't know if you knew that the big lady was dummy or not and I didn't want to get off on the wrong foot with you. I think the bird shot has some potential but right now it's a little too much in the rough for me. I think it has a lot to do with the background, with the people and all. Probably just me. On second glance it looked better than at first. I'll keep on revisiting it and maybe I'll eventually see the way you do. In any event, I'll look forward to seeing more. I like living close to the mountains and enjoying the beach vicariously, you know, the humidity, bugs, storms, and all of that. :)

The big lady was just a fun shot and I make books through shutterfly to help me remember things on a trip, so I let her be on the front of the book saying "Bon Bini" which is Papiamentu (sp?) for welcome. Maybe I'm the dummy. :) I put a few pictures in Pictures "traveling pictures of an amateur". They are pictures I made in England and Hawaii. I like the islands. Not much on cold weather but I do understand the humidity, bugs, etc. thing.

I'll go have a look at the new pics. Noticing your profile image, to me it seems a little confusing. That's the HMS Belfast above Tower Bridge which puts you on the east side of the Thames but it looks the other way around. I do like you're lil' "Mother Hubbard" costume there but that too seems somehow a little deceptive. You look like you might be a fugitive from the IRA and yet I see what appears to be a very youngish face peering from under the scarf. That picture is just all wrong. :-)

That's my son for you. We were at the Thames a ways up from the Tower Bridge. I was doing my "unibomber" impression evidently. My son laughed tears when he realized that's who it looked like according to the sketch that was put on TV years ago. My husband thought it was even funnier because the Tower Bridge and ship were in the background. The real story is my son was stationed in England and I went to visit on short notice because he was leaving for Afghanistan. They told me it was very warm there at the time so bring lightweight clothes. The temp proceeded to drop into the 40's after I got there so I was freezing with only the jacket with hood to stay warm. Thanks for the young comment. My son is a much better photographer than me.
