Graphics Processor Acceleration still better turned off in Lightroom after significant computer upgrade of RAM and Graphics Card

I recently upgraded my Dell XPS computer to 24 Gigs of RAM. It has an i7 3.4 Gh processor. At the same time I put in an EVGA GEforce GTX 1060 FTW 6 GB Video Card. The increase in RAM really helped the computers performance but I was surprised that the graphics card accelerator was still better turned off in the performance settings in Lightroom CC. When in the Develop module, I was getting all sorts of lag when using the graphics accelerator. In Photoshop, it does improve performance when it is checked. Has anyone found similar results?? What type of graphics card improves performance in the Develop module in Lightroom CC??
