My Powershot A570 IS was stolen and now I would like to get something comparable to this or better. I really loved this one. Thanks. Thoughts.
I had a Canon Powershot SX20 and was very pleased with it, then I got a Canon Rebel EOS T6 with a 18-55 and 75-300 lenses and really enjoy it. You will not do wrong with a Canon.
I like Canon also. I currently have a T1i. If I had to replace it now I would probably get a T6s (Love to have a 5D-MkIII but...).
Don't know what your budget will allow but if you can find one, you might want to get a sx50-H. I had one briefly, and now I wish I had kept it. The IS is amazing, and you would never know it's a 12 megapixel.

Budget?
Type of pictures you do the most?
Do you have a size limit, like must fit in shirt/coat/cargo pocket?

You might want to look at the G series. I have a G15 which has been replaced by the G16. The G7 is a nice camera. The nice thing is you can take photos in raw.

At one time, I had an A570IS, and I loved the photo quality, BUT I found that with the AA batteries, it couldn't recharge the flash quick enough to suit me. I've found I much prefer cameras with rechargeable lithium ion batteries as opposed to AA's.

I'm currently using a Canon Rebel T5. It's part of their promotional line, but as a retired person on a fixed income, it's all I could afford. Previously, I had a T3. While the T5 has 6 megapixels better resolution, I can't tell much difference between the two. Canon lenses are the greatest and that seems to be the bottom line.

I love Sonys. With the DSC-HX50V leading the way. Mint used off ebay is the way to go to get your hands on this great camera.
Having the camera stolen is the issue after all these years of use? For the price they are going for now the suggestion here is to get another one. Nothing ever replaces a camera you love like another one. Better cameras since? Yes, however once you are whole again you can think of others.
just bought a pair of Panasonic Lumix DMC G5 (small, changeable lens) and LX7 (pocket P&S), they're excellent. Bought on Craigslist, both for $375. Almost brand new, with box, manual CD...If you don't try these, you will not see how good the new technology is, and after so many years sticking with Nikon, Sony and recently with Canon, these small cameras amaze me. I think the T1i,2i,to 6i are very reasonable price, easy to use and nice result. Just don't buy the G10, 12...line, they have problem with lens open/close, bad for low light shot, difficult to use, bulky and short life battery. Also, recommend the Fuji S9200, very nice small one too.
If you want to stick with Canon, consider purchasing a used camera and lenses, you'll get more bang for your buck!
Canon lists refurbished cameras and lenses all the time on their website. I'm sure that someone will provide the link to their used site. If not, I'll fire up my laptop and copy it from an earlier discussion from a couple of days ago!
Then also look at B&H, or Adorama for used equipment. They stand behind their used equipment, and those here on UHH stand behind their good reputations!
But STAY AWAY FROM 42nd Street at ALL COSTS!
Thanks everyone. I have heard of the sx50 and sx60. I'm sorry I failed to mention price range. The middle of the road. I don't want teenie but now I'm not one to want to invest in lens. I'm an outdoor gal, so it's mostly family and outdoor shooting. When I go on an adventure alone and I see something, I want to quick take it without having to change to telephoto. Hope this helps with sharing my wants. Thanks

Perhaps an SX60? Nice zoom range (21-1365mm), 16MP, shoots raw as well as JPEG, built-in IS and wifi for easy transmission of photos to phone, laptop or PC. Canon has the refurb for $379 as of last night. I've been thinking of one for my wife.

Thanks. I too found that to be true. I will keep this in mind. :)
