Big mistake of Trump org to leave Saudi off the no visa list. Most of the 911 terrorists from there.

Trump has 8 companies registered in Saudi Arabia. Did that have anything to do with that decision you think?

Oh, no, not the Saudi's. Who can we trust?!
Same story in the Daily Caller: http://dailycaller.com/2017/02/07/exclusive-saudi-cash-is-sending-veterans-on-luxury-trips-to-washington-to-oppose-911-law/
and a similar tale of Saudi lobbying: http://maplight.org/content/top-washington-lobbyist-slow-to-disclose-relationship-with-saudi-arabia.
Freedom & democracy (and freedom to spend on speech being equivalent to free speech) requires a different approach than "head in the sand". There are many organizations that are heavily funded by outside of the US entities that do not have our best interests in mind. {Sorry for the US centric comment. No, not really.}

The Saudi's have oil and the USA needs it. Which gave them a pass. It doesn't make it right though. President Bush #43 would not have put them on the list either. He had most of Saudi Diplomats hustled out on Jets, immediately after 9-11. Oil has power. And Saudi Arabia has lots of it.

Possibly. But lobbying more likely.

Obama didn't have them on the list and fought the legislation.

That was then. We don't need them anymore.

We don't need Saudi oil any longer. For a couple of years before Obama and throughout his tenure we have slowly become self sufficient. {http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikepatton/2016/04/20/u-s-dependence-on-foreign-oil-hits-30-year-low/#199017ac741f}. And remember the Keystone Pipeline? Its purpose was to get landlocked oil in Canada to port cities in the Gulf of Mexico for export and higher profits. Landlocked as it is, it is cheaper for the midwesterners as the t***sportation costs are lower and it is not in direct competition with foreign sources. The Saudi's have money, but no real oil power any longer. One of the main reasons to keep domestic production high is to diminish the potential $$$ resources of some of our "adversaries" (like Russia - a HUGE player in the oil export game). {The increase in production started before Obama but it did continue through his tenure.}

We don't need Saudi oil any longer. For a couple o... (show quote)
. According to this article, the USA has not depended solely on foreign oil since about 2005. Four years after 9-11. Which means that Saudi Arabia is no longer having countries begging and making deals to get their oil. I say good to that.
