Orcas playing in the snow. Dunlins huddled in the snow.
We have had an unusually cold, snowy Winter here. These Orcas (Killer Whales) seem to be enjoying the snow.
Flocks of Dunlins swoop and flash around the waters here. They usually rest and huddle along the shoreline. This is the first time I have seen a flock in the snow.
I have yet to capture a flock, swooping in unison, as they flash past. It is amazing how the whole flock flies in sync.
Thanks for looking AndiS. Probably a lot warmer where you are.

Being statues those orcas probably are enjoying the lack of pigeons.
They have to watch out for seagulls around here.

We always stopped there , the spit where the boats are moored, there was a fish and chips place down there 25 years ago and other sea food . , and we ran into Gene Kininsky a few times at the pancake house I forget the of it but it was a known one ,
Yes. Canadas greatest athlete, I think they called him. Marine Drive has changed a lot over the years. I lived in UT in the 80's, but had a boat here in the Blaine marina. I remember the two cafes here on Marine DR. It was great to have breakfast while looking out over Semiahmoo bay. There was a Denys here at the time. It is called Big Al's now. It may have been what you thought of as a pancake house.
Thanks for the memories.

The old timers at the senior center here say, you may not want to remember every thing. There used to be a bunch of houses of ill repute here in Blaine.
