Today it all came together. I built the bird feeder a couple of weeks ago, had a Sony 70-300mm G ssm lens, and a RF remote shutter release just arrived in the mail from Ebay.
Attached the camera on a 10ft ladder top run, then sat inside and shot. So ease.

For those who have an interest in the improvised bird feeder made from two cedar slats from Home Depot.

Are the slats for the roof 2peices of 5 1/2 inch wide cedar slat butted and glued together? How long are they and the uprights how long
Are they that's where I get my cedar also a 6 ft slat of fence cedar cost is $3.60 I guess you get it for less than that , the other wood I use for mine is the 12foot x 3 1/2 inch pine it's only $3.25 and I only use two pieces at 6 inches each fo r each feeder so it's enough 12
Feeders very cheap . As I can make 12 ,

Very observant IBM, Yes, the roof are 2 pieces glued together at the length of 9" ( a good drip overhang). The uprights are 12 1/2" long. On the rise leading off the feed tray, I would change the angle from 60 degrees to 75 degrees.
I'll be making another one for my neighbor with some modifications. I'll make a photographic series from it.

Please post a picture of your feeders.

How do you refill the feeder?

Accessing the seed storage by lifting half of the roof with flashing seal.

I take it the sides are also two pieces joined together, is that correct? . The roof at 90 % looks good . The local feed store buckerfieldes would be asking at least $95 to $130 for one like that . I'll have to get into home Depot, for some more cedar. Does the roof come off to fill it ,or is there a hinge on other side ?

I see that increasing the sides to 75% then wouldn't you have to increase the length of the roof a little also ,

Yes, the sides are two pieces and the roof are slanted at 60 degrees with a ridge aluminum flashing to prevent rain from entering the seed storage compartment.
