Just a few mountain pictures to set off the soon-to-be summer hiking season.
Ugh...just a hundred (or so) more feet to go to the Mount Powell summit
Coming out of the timberline to view Deer Lodge Mountain (L) and Mount Powell (R).
Looking down at Dolus Lake No. 1 from the false summit of Pikes Peak.
Catching some wind on a high mountain park above Bielenberg Canyon.
Hig rolling hills east of Avon
Young lad looking west across the Deer Lodge Valley from atop Rocky Ridge.
High mountain lakes south of Mount Powell.
Nothing like the beauty of the Rocky mountains...its beauty is captured in the scenery, wildlife and the snow capped peaks...wish I where there again
That's true. As far as your wish, you just have to make the time.

Great Views!!! Yeah summer!!! I cannot wait until alpine wildflower season!!!
That always does bring some life into an otherwise bland scene.

Very beautiful area. That wouldn't happen to be Pikes Peak, Colorado by chance? If it is, I'be been there before. Very beautiful and serene. Wonderful area.
I hear ya. I had a few close calls, and I have to say, I'd rather view it from afar.

No, it's Pikes Peak, west of Deer Lodge, Montana. The Montana "Pikes Peak" caught on because a bunch of miners from Pikes Peak, Colorado worked placer mines throughout the mountain drainages in their quest for gold. After a while, the mountain and creek became commonly referred to as Pikes Peak and Pikes Peak Creek. The miners were referred to as the Pikes Peakers.
