I have had the cannon for 5 years and never had a problem downloading pictures to a computer but now it will not work on any of my computers. I don't know if I have changed a setting on my camera or what. I have tried three computers and two different cables anyone have an idea what I have done or not done?

Hard to say from what you have shared, I could only speculate.
Suggest you remove the chip and insert it in a chip reader (if you don't have one, you should. Costs less that $20 and can be very handy).
This will do things, prove that you computer can recognize a USB device when it is plugged in, and allow you to browse the chip directly with Windows Explorer. You may have a corrupted chip, a bad file on it or another techical problem. The memory chip reader helps you get to your images more directly and can eliminate several variables with the downloading from the camera software.
Are you getting any error messages?
Go into the setup menus and see if the communication setting is Print/PTP or PC connection. You want PC connection. (I'm referencing my XT, it may have different wording on yours)
I have heard of this problem before try it with a card reader.I never use cables from camera to USB.If the card reader gives you error messages this proves memory card has been corrupted.
make a trie whith a caard reader.
breyde
Everyone can guess and make suggestions that may or may not work.

Before you invest in a card reader, check your printer, it may have a mufti-card reader installed. Most Photo Printers came with SD card readers built into the front panel.
Check your PC CPU, if it was build for multimedia it should have a memory card reader built into the front panel.

And that is how you can eliminate the card and camera from the problem. If the card works directly through the PC that eliminates the card as a problem cause.
Because we have so many memory cards available some of us get used to removing the cards and plugging them into our PCs, that makes the card and receptacle the most common failure source.
I leave mu memory cards in the camera and download using the USB cable, its a lot less expensive replacing a cable with bent, or broken pins than to repair a memory receptacle inside a digital camera.

And they will tell you: "You should have used the USB cable."

I can see that you can read peoples minds and solve their problems through intuition. What stock should I buy tomorrow?

I always use card readers. I never connect my camera. I also have an XSI. No problems.
