He's the glamour boy of the local Wild Turkey population.
The big birds visit us every day in the Winter. He is not in his mating regalia, which is disappointing. The only picture possibilities now are head and shoulder shots like this.
You can see the reflection in his eye shows our sun porch, where I was sitting behind the partly opened middle windows. That's about as close as I should get. He's a big guy, with very long spurs. Although Wild Turkeys are usually not considered aggressive, I'm told the males sometimes have fiercely protective streaks.
To have a bit of PP fun, and to stretch a point about this being a character shot, this has also been done as a B&W.
Oh my! He does look like he could hold his own against all who would test his authority
Super detail, Pierre. Fascinating portrait.
(edit - just read photog8's comments. My monitor shows a slight reddish tint to #2 as well)
The B&W (looks more like sepia on my monitor) does him justice. Nice shot. ;-)

It's deliberately toned, but I don't see it heavily in my monitor.
Thanks Linda.

The toning is "coffee" -- somewhat like the color of their feathers.
Thanks Photog 8

Super portrait you captured, Pierre... such detail, down to the reflection in his eye!!
Pierre, the photography is good but the subject is not a great beauty. I actually like the toned version best. I think it gives a more mellow feel.

Such a fine looking lad...good work!!
Fantastic portraits of Mr T, Pierre! I wish the wild turkeys were not so illusive here, but it's probably because they're hunted, so they seldom come near people.

He could use a hairdresser. LOL. There's lots of detail to capture.
Thanks Angela.
