My wife was supposed to be on medical leave to recover from treatment, but they asked her to come in for a meeting today. I drove her there, and then during the meeting I wandered around with my camera {she works at a small college for women}. I managed to increment the shot counter by over forty, but here are some of the better pictures I took {I'll have another group ready later}
I saw a squirrel out in front of her building, then followed him back to a black walnut tree. I think I've met this guy before - he 's relatively friendly, and sometimes allowed me to come within six feet or less of him, although occasionally he'd dash up a tree for comfort. I followed him for almost an hour, but after he seemed to tire of entertaining me, I went on and found two others that would tolerate my presence for more than a second.

Thank you.
Yes, that one is good.
I was helped by elevation that gave me a nearly level shot without having to bend my 69-year-old back.

Very well done series. These squirrels certainly look well fed and healthy!

Thank you.
As I've commented elsewhere in another context, a Darwinian competent squirrel should do well around here - as these three demonstrate, this land produces all kinds of yummy stuff for them.
I love watching squirrels! Your last photo is a winner! The expression on its face is priceless. Thanks for sharing.

One of the advantages of watching them through binoculars or telephoto lens is that you discover a lot more "personality" than you normally see.

Cute series, we have a walnut tree behind our garage, the squirrels like to run along the top of our fences.

Thank you for your comment.
Yes, around here the tops of fences - any kind, privacy to chain link - serve as squirrel expressways.
