I think this is one of the most amazing mantids ever - Dragon Mantis / Feather Mantis (Toxodera beieri) from Peninsular Malaysia. Natural light.

Oh, M... G... those are totally cool! I am having a fit right now. Never saw a Dragon mantis before. And of course the Orchid mantis is a candidate for the most beautiful insect in the world.

And spotting stuff that looks like a twig. I love camouflaged critters. Just something special about hiding in plain sight.

Douglass - yes i think males have wings. That mantis was about 4 inches long.
