First Snow-I and II

Having spent about half of our 90+ years in climates in which winter means snow, it might be reasonably expected that Florida or Arizona would be our "snow bird" home. Huh -uh! The transformational beauty that each of the seasons brings is worth far more than the bothers of the dirty slush, and the fog enshrouded days. Every first snow of the year is magical beyond words. Here are two unmanipulated views.

Your eloquent endorsement of the joy of changing seasons is inspiring, Bob!

I like photo #1 as a study of textures and lines. Very pleasing.

Hi, Pilot6
Your eloquently stated feelings Re: first snow are matched by your eloquent tonal and range control of #1.
I do, indeed, share your hibernophilic attitude! South Dakota has more than its share of "snow birds" , and I am pleased and honored to be one of the voices remaining to proclaim the magnificence of a Northern plaines winter!

Best regards,

Dave

I like snow pictures, but remember to set your camera at +2 EV. The camera software make bright white turn to dirty grey. You can over power this by the over exposure. Try it. David Post process does not fix it very well.

Thanks Linda, Dave and Meives- for your kind and instructive (both photographical and lexical) words. FYC has a friendly atmosphere--no intimidation here!
