Mud Daubers are solitary wasps ranging in size from half an inch to an inch. They build a mud nest that can be the size of a peanut to the size of a large lemon. They seldom sting and are not protective of their nests which are typically found on walls, porches and under eaves etc. They also nest in the ground and are more often seen in warmer seasons. They prey on spiders and are said to particulary
enjoy Black Widow spiders.

A very nice sequence. We saw these when we lived in Spain, they came back and forth through the always open window tending their mud nest. One built theirs on a light shade and another at the top of a net curtain.

Very nicely done, Yvonne! Any creature that kills spiders can't be all bad! Thanks for sharing with us!

Excellent set, but they sure can make a mess when they find a way to get inside the cabin of a boat! :-(
