This is quite a shot. Did you set up lighting for it or was the light from an ambient source? The reason for my question is the seeming thickness of the threads and how the light seems to be focused on the main part of the web, with the rest fading quickly outside the illuminated area.

Certainly holds my attention! A fascinating look I like very much; please do talk about your lighting, and the pp. Thanks.

Natural light, if I can remember it was filtered through the bush. It was taken about 8 years ago, I think there were very small beads of dew on the web hence the thickness after the "glow" was added.

It's a secret. No, I'm kidding. I took the picture in the bush, natural lighting(the sun) filtering through.
The sun was right on the web, background was dark. I think there were very small drops of dew on the web, it was taken early morning.

PP, darkened the whole image, used a bit of "glow 100", boosted the clarity a bit, used vibrance on the web. Taken about 8 maybe 9 years ago. Going through a lot of older shots to see what is salvageable or not.

Thanks! Must be fun to reminisce and to find little gems to "re-purpose"

Yes it is, especially during a wild snowstorm we are getting (foot on the ground so far). 1000's of shots to look at yet.

First time I have seen this type of web construction. I would like to see the spider that made it.

Visited the same location many times, here it is. That was the only spider I saw near the webs. Taken with a 60mm Macro.

Not all shots are worthy. This was a slide taken 47 years ago, digitized about 5-7 years ago and worked on then. Misspent youth hanging around the docks!!

I'm not a fan of the selective coloring, but otherwise it interests me - gritty textures and decay.

Web and spider: two more examples of your outstanding work. The one on the docks aint bad either!

Thanks, I'm going through quite a few old shots seeing what can be salvaged.

This is a great web shot, IMHO. Color and lighting are really nice. I think the glow adds a beautiful effect.
