I was just wandering has anyone ever used any of these products? There are several products besides apple that will do this.

Apple gets real touchy with 3rd party cables, etc when there's an iOS upgrade. I've had iPhone docks from Belkin stop working after iOS upgrades, so stick w/ the Apple brand.

Can you remove the card? Can't you connect the iPhone to a computer and set it as a disk drive - reading the card that way?

I don't know if you have the old 30 pin or the Lightning cable but if you get the genuine Apple product be advised that you can only upload pictures to the phone. You cannot take pics from the phone and download them to an SD card. That's Apple logic. I did get an aftermarket 64 gig thumb drive that lets you take pics off or put them on and it works great through an app.
