One more question... Does anyone have experience, good and/or bad, with Cameta? More specifically, with refurbished items from Cameta?
I had only great experiences with them, but I bought new.
I didn't get the idea that I was being rushed.

never bought from them but considering they have stores all over the US,England and western Europe, I am sure they are a reputable, trustwortyhy business. see what their return policy is on refurbished.
Bought from them several times, no problems what so ever from them.
Bought a refurb lens, and camera body from them. They followed up with emails to question service, and asked for critique on everything from orders, communications, quality of items, delivery, etc.
All I can say about Cameta is GOOD!
I've bought from them a few times. No problems.
I bought some filters from them. No problem. :D
I tried to make a purchase from them years ago.
At that time they would not sell to Canadians.
So I can't be bothered with them now.
Their loss.
Have bought from Cameta Camera many times for many years. Never had a disappointment. Bought new, used, and refurbished. All were as advertised and trouble free.
Example of their customer service: I purchased a new Nikon D200 from them shortly after the model came out. When I hadn't received it after more than a week, I called Cameta customer service. They assured me that it had been sent and that they would investigate. One hour later Cameta called back and assured me that the camera would be delivered in two days. It seems the UPS driver left my camera package on the porch of a house with the same house number on a similar sounding street across town. Luckily, the people living there were away for some time and the UPS driver found the box where he had left it a few days earlier.
Can't get better service than what Cameta gave me!
Have always had great transactions with Cameta,

I've bought both new and used from them. They do a lot of selling on ebay.
Before I bought from them, I did what you are doing and asked about them on the forum. One of the members shops at their store on Long Island, and recommended them.
As for refurbs, no problem. I got a D5100 that was refurbished by Nikon for about $100 less than new. It came in a Nikon box with all the bits and pieces.
Have purchased over 30 cameras and equipment of one kind or another from Cameta and have found them to extremely reliable , courteous and honest . I have had over thirty years experience with many of their sales people and consider them friends more than just people I do business with. Any problems that occurred were always solved satisfactorily and expediently ...although they were extremely rare. I visit the shop at least twice a week just to talk shop...The people there are also photographers and not only clerks.
I have purchased a few refurbished lenses from Cameta and each one arrived looking and working like a new lens. They also have a very helpful staff. Very satisfied with Cameta.

I have used Cameta several times over the years without a problem. Recently bought a 300s and it's in great shape. It was a Nikon referb -- looks and works like new. Nikon only gives a 90 day warranty with their referbs but Cameta extends that to 1 year. They take time to talk to you when you call unlike some dealers that only want to take an order. I even visited their place a few years back. It's in a small village on Long Island. At that time they were located in a house. Maybe they have a larger place now, but back then, it seemed small for the amount of business they do.
