Film Ferrania announces P30 B&W Film

Film Ferrania of Italy has announced a new film based on an Italian classic cinema film. The film is P30 and is 80ISO. It seems to be from the examples a fairly high contrast film that has a high silver content.

Film Ferrania's ultimate goal is to make color reversal and color negative films. Creating a viable, quality b&w emulsion is a good step in that direction.

I wish they were making 4x5 format. Perhaps, someday.

I know, hopefully they will. 120 and 4x5 would be nice. Eventually I think they will as they have stated that their color film will be offered in those sizea

Towards the end of this thread on APUG the Ferrania rep. mentioned the ability to coat 4x5. So, it looks like it may very well happen.

I recently dusted off my Canon 10S after 20 years and decided to start shooting b&w again. Back then, I loved using Tech Pan developed in paper developer for a high contrast/ultra fine grain image. Since Tech Pan hasn't been available for some years, I would like to know if there are comparable substitutes out there. Thanks
