This is quite true, but I don't bother going to Google or Yahoo any more. Their interfaces are kinda more complicated and not as easy to use. If they were I would dump old emails wholesale. Any email I place any value on gets copied and pasted outside the email app.

If you have email via Gmail, Yahoo, ... as opposed to Outlook, your emails are not on your computer - they are on the email client's servers. Therefore you will have access to them from your new computer. Also, Adobe CC is valid for two computers. I have it installed on my desk and laptops. Not necessary to deactivate. May be true for some of your other licenses too. Worth checking.

BUY an external HDD docking station - - Cheap !! (PS - Make SURE you know the HDD interface in your old computer! IDE versus SATA)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0099TX7O4 for SATA
When you get your NEW computer - take the HDD out of your OLD computer, put it in the docking station
And Transfer all your old files onto your new computer.
-
Another option IF you have a home network, would be to transfer your files from your OLD computer across your network to your New computer.

When my old (Vista!) system needed replacing about three months ago, I bought a new Dell desktop with Win 10 and a 2TB hard drive. I had recently replaced the HD in my old desktop with a new 2TB WD hard drive. I had replaced the 1TB drive with the 2TB drive, primarily because I had run out of space with about 600GB of photos. However, I put the 1TB drive in a spare internal bay to be used for photo back-up (I freed up space by removing programs and other non-essential stuff). I put the almost new 2TB drive in a spare internal drive bay and transferred the files to the new drive that way and had an automatic backup drive. Since the 1 TB drive was only about 1 1/2 years old, I bought an enclosure for it (about $20 at Amazon) and now have a good external drive that already had my photos on it. I also have a 2TB external drive that backs up everything daily.

I used Google Gmail and I have an account with Earthlink that is a POP3 accounts. So I used the mail program that comes with Windows 7. I believe it's called Windows Live Mail. I'd like to pull some saved emails over to the new Windows 10 "Mail" application. But haven't a clue how to do it. I can live without them.

Oh, and I really don't see why I should leave the CC Active on my old computer. If I do and later want to activate it on laptop, CC will think it's already active on 2 computers. So deactivating all your programs before sending the old computer to the recycler is a good idea.

You can configure your Win Live Mail to download all your Gmail and possibly Earthlink too. Then, just delete all transferred mail in Gmail or Earthlink except those you desire to keep. Or, delete in Gmail/Earthlink email, then use Windows Live to download all mail from Gmail and/or Earthlink mail. Gmail has very easy and quick ways to delete bulk mail. I do not think there is a way to "transfer" discreet (a few) emails to Win Live or other email clients.
