Time Travel

Time travel is a fascinating subject for movies and books, but I don't believe it will ever be possible. Why not? There is no past, and there is no future, simple as that. They do not exist as places we can visit. The past is a memory, and the future has not happened yet. Sure, there is the currently irrelevant phenomenon of tremendous gravity or tremendous speed slowing down time for the people involved, but that's not the same thing. Any opinions?

Time moves slower near bodies with very high gravity.

Never say never. in the late 1800's some scientists believed man would never travel at speeds over 60 MPH.

Right. And I'm still waiting for my flying car to be delivered.

When I think about it, I get pissed off that I won't be around to see all the changes that will be made every 100 years or so. But I would not want to go back every 100 years. But I would like to go back about 20 years. I woukld then know just what to invest in so that now I would be one of those billionaires you keep hearing about.

That's why the gov't will never allow time travel.

But look at all the things that are being discovered and invented now. I remember when cameras didn't auto focus.

I am not a believer, either, but then there are lots of string-theory and M-theory physicists out there who are still theorizing ....

Jerry, you are killing the movie industry ( not that it would be a bad thing considering the current circumstances)

As I said, time travel is great for fiction, but not for reality.
