What is a REAL Dr. today? You get to see a N.P. or a P.A. or the real dummies the so called Hospitalist. that really don't give a shit about what meds you might "ALLERGIC" to. Damn near killed my wife.

You're right about that 14photog, i was on a standard dose of a medication but getting some side effects so my regular doc cut dose in half and solved the problem.
Even though i told this young doc what we had done, the first thing this female did was quadruple the dose, putting me in the emergency room tied to an EKG rig. Thank goodness i had only taken her prescription for one day instead of the 3 months she prescribed.
A week later i received a letter in the mail from her telling me to stop taking the prescription and rush too the pharmacy where they had something waiting for me to take with no explanation why.
She is very good at follow up though.
She just sent me another letter saying my levels were back to normal and i should resume taking the same excessive dose that had almost killed me in the first place.
Perhaps she just hates old men..

I've had and still suffer at times from kidney stones. Had surgery in the early '70s while in the army in Vietnam and have had an attack as recently as last fathers day. Painful little bastards, and luckily I've been passing them. I've been told drinking one or two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice every morning helps by making the stones rounded. Unfortunately my body seems to be a factory for these.

Perhaps you should put a bullseye target in the Lav to have something to shoot the round stones at?

Finally got an appointment and saw the doc about the stones yesterday,
7 weeks after they started, 5 weeks after i sought medical help.
I'll chalk that up to how the current medical system works, but i thought i would croak laughing before the visit was over.
5 weeks ago they had told me not to eat "dairy products, potatoes, peanut butter, bacon, pork, leafy greens and
calcium fortified food", continue my medications, and drink all the water i could hold.
Yesterday they said i could eat all of those things and not to worry about the quantity.
However, i was to abstain from red meat and drink very little water because they both caused that particular type of stone.
Of course i was instructed to resume taking the meds because that was the recommended dose
and the fact the meds caused the stones was immaterial.
When i explained to her that the prescribed medication ended up with me in the emergency room
for 6 hours with a near fatal level of potassium and a bad EKG trace she just sat there with a doe in the headlights stare.
I think someone's father must have donated a wing to the med school.

Being a bit of a smart ass, as i was leaving i asked if it would be alright
to drink a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and eat a slice of ginseng root.
She thought that was an excellent idea.
20 years of formal education, 8 years concentrated on the human body, and
that was the best advice she could offer.
