Touch of color...
I saw a photo posted with a spot of color in a B&W pic... I am a fan of this on occasion and it prompted me to post a few pics that I took a few years ago in our village fete in the south of France... the scenes were very busy and very white with all the foam (or cluttered in the case of the girl with the glass in her mouth), so I thought they workes better as B&W but that the color added a means to draw the eye to what had originally drawn mine...
So, mainly just because I am new and haven't posted anything yet... here you go :o)
Over done? Not necessary? Love to hear opinions...
BTW the pics were taken on my Canon 350D but then transferred to the iPhone/iPad for ColorSplash to do its thing...
I really like this technique, and used to do it a lot, albeit the old-fashioned way. I've never learned to do it digitally, as I really enjoyed the painting work. I do think it needs to be selective and used with discretion. Applying it in every image is sort of overkill. It's a technique that sort of goes in and out of popularity. I think my favorite use of it was the little red coat in Schindler's List.
I agree... I had just bought the app when we had our fete so was looking for things to use it on. The original of the girl with the cup was actually not very good because she was kinda lost in the busy background (and obviously I never had the chance to wait for a better shot since this only lasted for a second or two) - so that is one pic where - IMHO, and for me personally - it improved the pic no end.
These show the colors brilliantly. Thanks for thinking this way. Such a vibrant addition to an otherwise black & white world. Thanks!

All interesting shots, but I would find a better group to hang out with.

Oh crap.... I get it now.... I actually thought you were suggesting I find a better PHOTOGRAPHY group to hang out with... got pretty pissed for a moment there... LOL
Oh yes, there was plenty of pastis flowing, and the town square and main street was cordoned off with huge plastic barriers and then the local fire department turned up and filled the town center with foam.... and then the DJ played and everyone danced... hence the foam, drinks, etc... A good time was had by all, and health and safety issues were the least of everyone's concern... one day I will post my pics of the bull running...
Now I hang out with Texans.... ;)
