Tiny grasshopper,bugs and bees

Couldnt see the fluff on the grasshopper till I put the pics onto PC I went back to try and untangle its legs but couldnt catch him, they can jump a huge distance for their size,
Dont know what the black bug is,still looking

That is a tiny grasshopper, well done for getting some shots of it. We have some little ones in the grass in the summer but they are fast and difficult to shoot, our cat loves chasing them. That is a very pretty yellow flower, looks like a succulent.

Hi Brenda, That little fella led me on a merry chase, he could jump in any direction and wasnt keen on my camera.We have a group of Magpies that warble outside our back door for a treat the grasshopper was lucky to survive. The yellow flower is a Portulacca, they have some lovely colours and put on a great show in our summer.

That is one of the slant-faced grasshoppers, and it sure is a cutie!
Ground beetles (Carabidae) are a huge family, but maybe that beastie is in or near the genus http://bugguide.net/node/view/127442/bgpage>Cyclotrachelus
