Looking for a remote shutter release for my Canon 5D Mark iii. None of the one's I see on line have great customer reviews. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
I've been using the Wave Commander Flashpoint Shutter Release for years on my MIII and never had an issue of any kind. It includes an Intervalometer timer as well. When I bought it, it sold for $19.95 (but I think that was a sale). So I do not know what the price is, but I'm sure its still pretty cheap!

I have wired and wireless remotes. The wired remote is a cheap generic brand which works fine. No problems. I also have the Canon RC6 which is okay if timing isn't critical. Sometimes I feel the wireless (Infra red) remote there is a slight delay in response time. The remote also has to be in front of the camera to point at the infra red sensor on the camera. The wired remote is instant and more reliable. I've also played around with the Canon Connect app which has too much lag. If I need a sure fire remote, I will use the wired remote especially if I'm using the Bulb mode. Everything else, I'll use the Canon RC6.

As a Nikon shooter, I've had Nikon's own version for many moons (since the F5) and it still works just fine, I'm sure Canon has something similar.

Hi- I have both wired and wireless. I actually prefer the wireless as it have more functions (timer, delay, etc) and I'm not tethered to my camera (D7200). I got mine on eBay after doing so online research, got a chinese model (Viltrox) for < $40 and it has worked w/o problems for more than 1 year. I was going to buy the Phottix but at 3x the price, felt that the less expensive one would be OK and if it died, I could still buy another and be ahead.

I also have the Viltrox, have had it about 6 months. Use it on two different Nikons. Have had zero problems with it. Got mine on Amazon. Good luck!!

I use a couple of Yongnuo 602 and 603s. They work very well. I bought the Nikon version, then when I moved to Sony, I was still able to use them with the proper cable.

Get the ones from China on ebay, about $1, and they work great.
I also have an app on my phone, DSLR remote. That one is free and works on all cameras.
