I used the night scene mode. The zoom pic of the pits was F 5.7 at 1/50 sec & ISO 800. The whole track pic is F 2.9 at1/1000 sec. & ISO 1600. To be honest I didn't know a scene mode carried that much range between subjects untill you asked & I looked into it. Thanks for asking.

I've only been to one NASCAR race (at the recently closed ;( Gateway Int'l Raceway), about 15 min from me and the Indy 500 many, many years ago.

I took all those photos from my seat. My Olympus has a great zoom lens.
