I feel the urge to purchase another lens. My D7100 and my lenses are listed below this posting I shoot mostly portraits, candids, and sports action shots of my 6 grandchildren, ages 15 to 7. My question to you is, considering what lenses I already have, what lens should I buy next.... and why do you recommend that I buy it? I would purchase Nikon or Tamron, new or used (mint to near mint). Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Thanks!
how about a 8mm fisheye? because time is fleeting, i'm 78, I bought a 5.8 mm today. it can open up a new area of hooting for me. I suggested a 8mm because the 5.8mm and 3.5mm are nearly impossible to find.
How about a macro lens?
Extension Tubes
A set of bellows?
How are you for filters? A set of Lee filters would do nicely.
Nothing unless you are looking for something creative. a fisheye or 14mm wide angle can be fun

If you want to stick with only those areas of photography, I think you are about set. Perhaps a second camera, a Nikon D500 perhaps, or if you have the $$$!, a D750.
If you want to try new things, a super wide lens, 8mm - 14mm for effects or landscapes; or as noted by another UHH'er some macro / micro, close-up equipment. Macro / Micro opens a whole new world of possibilities, and you can photograph just the stitching on a baseball for a sports shot keeping with that theme!

sorry fingers too large for emotions
About the only lens missing from you collection is a wide angle zoom i.e. 12~24mm or something similar, for capturing the grand kids at play. I think Nikon once made a 200mm macro. I saw a presentation given buy a guy who had such a macro and traveled the world photographing frogs. Amazing photos!

You are missing the long, the short and the close.
The Long, Nikkor 200-500mm or Tamron equivalent that I believe goes to 600mm.
Why? Good to bring the more distant things close that you cannot approach.
The Short, 8mm Rokinon Fisheye lens.
Why? Just plain fun, inexpensive so you don't feel obliged to use it all the time but it is there when you need it or want to feel creative.
The Close, Nikkor 105mm Macro.
Why? Macro lenses open a whole new world of exploration. This length is versatile in that you do not have to get hyper close for a 1:1 shot but is also budget friendly and is of incredible quality.
There you have it. The What and the why.
Have fun deciding.
