After receiving 4 emails today asking how I add then vignette to my images, i thought it would be more intuitive if i did quick video showing exactly how I do it.

I have uploaded the video to Youtube, for best results make sure you change it to HD and watch full screen

Not sure what I am doing wrong but when I adjust the curve it does not make a adjustment layer.

Hi, You need to add a curves adjustment layer first. From the photoshop menu, select Layer -> new Adjustment layer -> Curves

Ian has an elegant method for vignetting with a lot of fine, local control.

If you do not need or want all this control, then Photoshop can do it very quickly and simply. Filter>lens correction>custom>vignette. You can only adjust the size and darkness/lightness this way. I also use Adobe Camera Raw but the path is slightly different.

Many of my photos have a very slight dark vignette. The viewer does not know there is a vignette but it draws the eye subtly into the center of interest.

Thank you Ian for posting your approach.
