D200 new quirk

In previous years, I would set up my camera on my tripod prior to a thunder storm arrival and set it to manual, 15 second shutter at about F-6.3. I'd turn off auto focus on the lens and disable image stabilization. Then I'd program the interval timer and when the excitement started, I'd start the interval pgm.

I recently upgraded to the latest camera firmware (2.01 A/B). The other nite, I went through the ritual of setting up the camera for another show. However, in setting it up, I found that the shutter setting would change after each shot. I'd set the shutter to 15 seconds and snap a test picture. When it was done, my shutter setting was at 6 seconds. A second shot would only be open for 6 seconds, and then the shutter setting would be some other, seemingly random, number. I finally broke out my external programmable cable release, but am wondering if anyone's had a similar problem with the 2.01 firmware or is my camera getting tired of me using it too much? :)

I recall having this issue with the Nikon intervalometer a couple of years ago. Can't remember exactly how I fixed it.

This link might be how to do it: http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/D200/zmenu_interval.html

Look at the 3rd box in the right column for possible answer. It mentions preserving the interval setting by not starting right away. Note that the menu choice ON is highlighted.
