I'm wondering if anybody has this camera and what you think about it.

It is ULTRA small. Buttons are, of necessity very close together. Suggest you try one out first hand before committing.

As others have said the buttons are close together. In the beginning it irritated me but you get used to it. I bought it as a backup for my 70D on a Mediterranean trip. I wound up using it much much more than I thought. Pictures were stellar. I found many of the features really great. I flipped back and forth from AV to Auto and found that auto did a really great job with scene detection, balance etc. Very good in low light.

Bottom line is I am thrilled with this camera.

Thanks your review. I got it also as a back up. On vacations I will bring my 5d mark iv, but when hiking it is just too heavy.

Just checked B&H, they are out of stock; price decent compared to average eBay listings. For a point & shoot specs are good. Might consider one for my wife's birthday (so I can borrow it now and then😎).

I purchased it from Adorama because they have a free bundle offer with the camera. It was backordered, but yesterday I received an email that said it was on its way to them in a few days.

Why not settle for a brand new Canon G9X for $429 from B&*H. It's a great little camera with a 1" sensor. And you have two colors to choose from. Save your dimes/quarters. You'll like it. Good luck.

Yes, I looked at that one also. I also looks at the Sony and the Panasonic. I just liked the lens mm, Digic 7 processor and a few other things. Watched you tube videos also. I was just wondering if anybody on this forum actually owned this particular one.

I moved to this camera from my G 11 and had a G 2 before that. I also have a NIKON D 5300. because it had the same fully articulated viewfinder????? . I cannot believe Canon quit using the fully articulated live viewfinder???? I cannot believe Canon eliminated the normal viewfinder. I am an nature photographer. I am skiing at SNOWMASS right now and cannot see the photos I am taking ???????? The viewfinder is almost black and I missing some wonderful opportunities. I am sorry to say this as I also had the supreme tank of a camera, the Canon F 1 !!!!!!!!

I think the Canon G5x has the fully articulating screen.

I bought this G7X Mark 2 and have it with me on my overseas vacation.
Left my Nikon D90 at home.
It is a little heavier and slightly bigger than my old Canon P/S 700 IS.
Takes great photos but due to the size and weight it does not fit
on my belt good.
Had to buy a small bag to hang from my neck.
When I return will contact B&H and see if I can trade for the new Canon G9X Mark 2.
Very similar specs plus smaller.

The one I have now is the Canon PowerShot SX710 HS Digital Camera. It takes great pictures. But, I wanted one that would shoot raw. My husband will be using that one for our business. The G7x mark ii is almost exactly the same size. It fits in my purse perfectly.
I hope B&H lets you trade.
