Not sure if this is the proper forum but I was considering purchasing a laptop with these specs for Adobe CC Lightroom and Photoshop. Anyone have experience with this particular processor:

AMD FX 9800 Quad
15.6" WXGA Wide LED
1920x1080 Resolution
DVDRW Drive
Radeon R8 Graphics
16GB RAM
1TB HD + 128GB SSD
802.11ac Wireless
HDMI / USB3.0
Microsoft Windows 10

While the AMD CPU is less expensive, it's also about half the performance of the popular Intel I7 6700. I would recommend an I7 for image editing unless the cost is prohibitive. Here are benchmarks on both: http://hwbench.com/cpus/amd-a12-9800-vs-intel-core-i7-6700

Btw, nothing wrong with AMD processors - I have built a number of AMD machines, and they were rock-solid, it's just that Intel has a substantial edge with the I7 series of CPUs for PS performance, but it always comes down to performance/$ that you're willing to spend. If I could buy the same machine you described with an I7 for $100-200 more AND that would fit into my budget, that's the way I would go.

Looks like the I-7 is the way to go.

Indeed. Either the I7 6700 or I7 6800 would be a good choice for photo editing and have enough power to last you quite awhile.

Just to update, since I was on a budget I ended up with an ACER E5-575G-53VG. http://www.toppctech.com/best-photo-editing-laptops/
