Thank you, Jill Cline, for suggesting this forum as a great get away from the politics-ridden Facebook!
I'm a Michigan grandmother who can't breathe if I can't find something to photograph. I photograph a lot of bird feeder birds, red fox in our field whenever they have a litter to document, and my grandkids' sporting events.
I would classify myself as a camera addict, as I have a multitude of cameras around the house, each one with a specific forte' that it is best for. For wildlife I use a Canon dslr and a Tamron 150-600mm lens. If I'm out on a walk I will carry a Nikon P900 point and shoot because it has an enormous zoom and its lightweight, though the photo quality can not rival a dslr. For indoors I typically use a Sony A6000.
I know very little about off camera flash, and someday I hope to learn so I can do better portraits of the family.
Full frame cameras and expensive glass aren't in my budget, and I do suffer from gear envy, though I try to remind myself that the "best" camera is the one you have with you when the photo opp arises. :)
I look forward to perusing the forum, enjoying your photos, and learning something along the way!
