Donald Trump could have learned a lot about leading a country from Nelson Mandela.

I wonder if Trump is up to the task?

An excerpt from the article.....

One of my favorite movies is “Invictus,” which tells how Nelson Mandela, when he became South Africa’s president, built trust with the white community. Shortly after he took power, his sports advisers wanted to change the name and colors of the country’s famed rugby team — the almost all-white “Springboks” — to something more reflective of black African identity.

Mandela refused. He told his black aides that the key to making w****s feel at home in a black-led South Africa was not uprooting all of their cherished symbols. “We have to surprise them with restraint and generosity,” said Mandela.

Trump isn't smart enough tho he's had lots of help. He's a very aggressive and immature person, Chris.

It would have been so easy for him to start getting his opponents to change their opinion of him.

He'd rather rub salt.

The gist is that he showed the world what kind of man he truly is.

All we can do , at this point, is see what he does to/for this country.

If he did anything like that, his supporters would turn against him and the rest wouldn't believe him.

Are you saying that the "people" want an egotistical, vindictive leader for this country?

It certainly looks that way.

I think many foreign countries are unsettled about him, they depend on the US.

Wow, what a great example. Yep, Mandela, as good a man as he was sure did a great job of bringing South Africa together and making that country a shining beacon. LOL. Well not exactly. South Africa is now the cesspool of the world. Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong. It will never recover. A helpful hint, if you value your life, don't go there. South Africa ended up in the place that Hussein Obama had wished to take the United States but he was stopped. Good riddance Obama. Now stay away.

Libs, hey BTW Kalskag, did you burn any cars today, crack open any heads? I know that Chris and Donna aren't the type, but you, I'm not so sure.... You guys are pathetic with all your doom and gloom, kinda like when you made such a fuss about Trump possibly not accepting the results of the e******n..... and then your side showed itself for the hypocrites that you are, you also made such a fuss about the violence of the Trump people, then your side showed and continues to show the world who you really are.... I remember when there were calls to list the Tea Party as a terrorist organization coming from your side, can you show me anywhere where the Tea Party bloodied democrats up for simply attending events, or burned cars and smashed windows? You live in a world of make believe, you cast all these insane suspicions about the right out there, you fears become your reality, you are soon reporting them as fact, and in the end, your so called reality becomes the reality of the other side because whenever the left feels that our society has treated them unjustly you resort to vile language, false reporting and outright violence.... Way to go, maybe someday your side will grow up and join society as adults.

What has happened in South Africa AFTER Nelson Mandela dies is NOT under discussion.
By implication you would be saying that Bush is responsible for the state of this country...long after his presidency.

My point was that 1 man can make a HUGE difference when he takes over leadership.

I believe that Mandala's approach of inclusion was a much better approach than exclusion.
