Bald eagle

BamaTexan Loc: Deep in the heart of Texas

A storm has blown down the tree which this eagle had its nest. I do not know whether they will rebuild or not. I will be checking out the lake in the next couple of weeks for nest building activity. I observed the mate to this bird chasing an immature eagle off. I am including a far off photo of the chase. Not a very good shot due to the distance and I was in my boat and moving. Please use download for best results of the eagle in the dead tree.

Very nice set and I sure hope that they will rebuild, Chuck! It's still early in the year so maybe they will give it another shot!

Thank you very much Dr.Nikon. While the shot of the two eagles was what it was the excitement of seeing it for the first time was worth the fast run across the lake.

Great shots! Hopefully it will rebuild the nest close to where it was so you are still able to watch it close.

Thank you very much Jana-TAS, I am hoping for the same. This pair has had several nests destroyed in the last six years and they still persist.

Great Eagle shot BamaTexan...and the flight shot was good too...in spite of the distance If they don't rebuild at the old nest site I'm sure they will build one somewhere on the lake. That's what mine did when their nest fell...they just built another one further up the creek.

Thank you very much Carolina Wings. This pair have endured several trees with their nests being blown down for the past six years. I am just hoping they will rebuild this year.
