Agapanthus Black and White

I have received a request asking if i could convert the Agapanthus I posted yesterday into Black and White.

I took the colour version into photoshop and used the black and white adjustment layer to convert it to black and white. Because i was still working in the RGB colour space, I was able to experiment with the different colour sliders to reach a tone I liked.

The final step was to bring up a Hue/Saturation adjustment, place a tick in the colorize check box and then add a split tone effect to both the highlights and shadow areas.

To finish it off, I added a small vignette which i do by creating a new curves adjustment, then I reduce the highlights to about mid way, select a large soft brush, set the foreground colour to black and press once to add a touch of light.
