I am fixing to purchase a wide angle lens for my Nikon D300s and D7100. I am thinking either a Tokina 11-16 2.8 or a Sigma 10-20 3.5 , just not sure which one would be better. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thank you !!

In my experience ( with Canon dslrs) Tokina lenses have always outperformed Sigma lenses. I have always found the Tokina to be stronger and sturdier too.

I have the Sigma 10-20 which I got off of ebay in like new pristine condition a year or so ago, and I'm delighted with the performance. Tack sharp and great AF. I can't comment on the Tokina.

Boomer, have you considered a NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED ?

Do a search on technical reviews of the lenses for info. I would also think the NIKKOR would be better than the others, but also more $.

I have the Sigma 10-20 and have used it on both my D300 & D7100. Haven't used the Tokina, but I've heard good things about it. If I had to choose, without using either, I'd go with the Tokina. Can't comment on the Nikkor comps....

I've been considering a Nikon D500.
Based on the way I shoot and reviews, I'd give the Tokina 11-16 an really close look.
