Processing Labs

So not to long ago I put up a post as to what to do with my old 35mm cameras, a Minolta 3xi & 9xi. Well after getting a more then a few good suggestions I pulled them down out the closet. I intend to run a few rolls of film through them to see how they stood up to time. For all those who are still into film any suggestions on processing options, I could use the local Walgreens, but I was curious if anyone had any suggestions for labs that still process and print from 35mm.

Until I get set up to process my own, my Velvia-50 goes to http://www.dwaynesphoto.com/

I process my own black and white. If I have to shoot color, I'll rely on my digitals.

Best bet, google color film processing labs

The word on getting the developing done at Walgreens and similar is they scan the images and do not return the negatives. A mail order place like Dwaynes or TheDarkroom.com is a better choice if you expect to have images of interest and reuse.

Since I'm just doing this to see how the cameras are functioning and basic picture quality, I'm not going to need the negatives this time around. When I get serious with what my photos, I appreciate the recommendations for Dwaynes and the Darkroom as the reviews on both sound pretty good.

Why take the chance, even if you do not need the negatives? That is theft and it is criminal (to just keep your negs)! Just send them to Adorama or B&H for developing!

Yes. I just sent one in this morning.

Blackriverpower on Ebay.

They have prices for single rolls and multiple rolls at a time. The cheapest is to send in multiples.

The single is $6.49 to develop and then print 3.5x5's. They do real wet chem printing..no ink jet.

You get your negs back in nice sleeves cut into 4 shot or 5 shot strips.

It's cheaper to save up a few rolls and get them printed 4x6 or scanned and printed. Here is the "5 or 6 rolls scanned to CD with index prints" link. It's $27.00

Here's 5 or 6 rolls scanned and printed 4x6 for $40.00

That doesn't sound right to me. If anyone is thinking of Walgreens, I would call the Help # on the photo section of their Web site and ask.

Dropped off a roll for developing. Was told at the time, would receive the prints and a disc of the pictures but no negatives back as the film was being sent out for processing.
