Great shots! Very cool to have these beauties in your back yard. A nice post, thanks.

Thank you. They number in the thousands this time of year.

Nice job on the cranes in flight chip.

Good ones Chip, I see a couple of cranes at a preserve in our area.
Love the photos, the first one is interesting because each bird has their wing at a different position, one up, one level (or close to it) and one down.
Thank you for the kind comments. I also like the wing position.

Nice shots Chip. Since you are new, I thought you might want to know this. When you attach the image file to the post and click the (store image) file button, be sure to have a larger file loaded, or all we get to see is the original small sample, which doesn't show off the detail of your image.
Thanks for sharing. I am hoping to visit Cosumnes River Preserve this coming weekend. Not far from where you captured your shots. I have been meaning to get down there before they migrate back out for the Spring nesting.
Thank you for the advice! I'll use it next time. The Consumnes River Preserve was closed due to flooding last weekend. With new storms already hitting us I think they will be closed through this coming weekend. Thanks again!

Thanks Chip. I wasn't aware of the closure.
I know Yolo is completely flooded.
