One of the Everglades most troublesome birds is the Snowy Egret. I managed this sequence with the first showing the take off and the second the landing. Every time I look at the landing shot I can't help but think of an aircraft with landing gear down and flaps adjust approaching a runway.

Thanks for looking. Both shots taken with Nikon D810, 200-400mm lens with tc1.4. Both are handheld.

Nice work Larry. That's a lot of weight to hold steady.

Nice photos but I especially like the second one. What is troublesome about egrets? I thought a lot of people here like them. At least there is tons of photos of them posted here.

Thanks very much. I use a 10 pound weight at home at night to keep my arms in shape to hand hold that rig. IT has paid off.

Thanks so much for looking.

Thanks for looking EdJ0307. The snowy is beautiful to photograph but he spends a lot of time harassing the other birds. He often drives them off. None of the other egrets are as aggressive as the snowy.

I appreciate your comment.

Very good shots Larry. I noticed that the leg color on these two appears to be different. Is it related to how much leg is clearly showing or do some of them differ.
