I have a HP deskjet 1010 printer (I know, a cheapie) that quit printing. Up until now it has done a great job for what it is. This did not happen until I changed an ink cartridge. It processes the paper through the printer and sounds like it is printing, but when the paper comes out, it is blank. Have gone to HP web site for help, but to no avail. Searched on Google, still nothing. Thought someone here might have a suggestion.
Thanks in advance for any ideas provided.
Have you used alcohol to wipe an clean ink bar.
Have you totally removed the plastic strip on the new cartridge?
The plastic strip is a likely suspect, but once I had a "new" Canon cartridge where the ink was completely dried out Apparently a vendor had some very old stock.

Did you put a warm wet towel on it. I had something.
My HP printer will not print because of "paper jam" even though it doesn't have any paper or jam in it. Also it jut recycles what was the last thing it printed and never stops until the no paper thing. I am beginning to wonder about HP.

Hp makes some fine printers. The cheap ones are, well cheap ones. As printer get older, they become even more annoying. Either buy another one, a better one or BOTH! Best of luck!
Thanks folks. Just to update, tried everything suggested and then some. No luck, still didn't print. So went ahead and got a new printer, another fairly cheap HP. I know, get what you pay for, but no more than what I print should last a few years.
