Viera Wetlands: Baby Limpkin Update
Jan 14, 2017 18:04:08   #
sb Loc: Florida's East Coast

I was excited to see the pair of baby limpkins doing well today. They are getting bigger and developing little feathers in spite of the constant threats. There is another adult pair that have not nested yet, as far as I can tell. FYI: anyone planning on being in the area next week: the wetlands will be closed during the week (Monday through Friday) for removal of invasive non-native Brazilian Pepper Trees. These photos were taken from about 100 feet and tightly cropped.
