Quite the contrary...Very popular here in Austin, San Antonio, Houston...Dallas...Major cities New York, Chicago...L.A...etc.
The performers have Burlesque events aside from the local shows...Miss Dita Von Tease is one of the most current and famous performers.
She has a book, or rather "books" on the Art of the Tease, bondage...etc...look her up. :)
Men are also involved as Burlesque performance, called "Boy-lesque" I have a male performer that I did a shoot with - "J Bird"...
All in all great fun and I enjoy the art...

How interesting. Where I live in NJ, there are no Burlesque events and no advertising, as far as I know.
On the road I have seen flashing signs for NUDES, PEEP SHOWS, but no Burlesque.

The last Nina stands out among the rest. It is a shame that the conservatives will out law Burlesque forcing one to go the Russia to see one or wait for the XXX movie to be released... "Trump Does Moscow" !!
Why the last Nina? The slight blur adds "motion action" to the hot, red&yellow, coloration. She has an expression on her face that adds a "silly boy" comment to the photo. Capturing live performances is difficult;Photohed, you have done well.

In my hay day. Check out utube it some of the great ones from back in my day. Some of your movie star started in Burlesque. great times in my life.

I like these... I have not shot in that environment... The lighting is tough .... and I am sure "flash" is never allowed.. But even with flash, it would be tough to get an even coverage ... of those posted, I am partial to Nina's shot because of the motion blur that was created...
This had to be a fun shoot ....
