Is it possible to double expose on my Canon G9X? If so, how is it done?

If it is, it should be all in the manual!

I think you double exposed in film days by not winding on. The equivalent today would be two exposures or more stacked together using software. Useful in creating visual tricks, having greater DOF and used cleverly even greater dynamic range than +/- 2 or 3 stops as you could stretch the middle range at will.

Few Canon bodies are able to do what you ask. What does your user's manual tell you about it?

There are some digital cameras which will do multiple exposures in the camera.

I found one source on Google which says it doesn't have that capability.

In Photoshop Elements open two images, select Enhance>photomerge>exposure. And whoola! there you have your double exposure.

Just did it, works fine.

I did a quick text search in the camera's pdf manual and found no results for double exposure. Unless there is some sort of work-around approach to doing an in-camera double exposure, my conclusion is that your Canon G9 X simply does not offer this feature.

Never tried that before.
Will have to take a look and see if Photoshop CC has it.

Blending in Photoshop...

I still have a pin-registered Nikon F3 from 1985 that does perfect multiple exposures on film... I'd make a slide with it and copy it with a scanner or macro lens on a digital camera. Kind of round about, but it's workable.

The 80D will do double exposures. It can do several multiple exposures.
